Millet Recipe Contests conducted by KVK Krishnagiri
  Krishnagiri District is one of the popular districts for cultivation of Agricultural and Horticultural Crops major crops are Paddy, Ragi, Redgram, Cowpea, Maize, Bajra, Groundnut, Horsegram and Minor Millets. The Total geographically area of our district 5,14,325 ha, Cultivable area is 2,24,767 ha, The major area under millet is 44,580 ha.
Krishnagiri District comprises of 10 Blocks as below:

  Millet recipe contests are organized to promote the millet cultivation with a view to utilize more ethnic food to have a better health among the population along with an intention of preserving the natural bio-diversity.
Three millet recipe contests were conducted in three blocks viz.,
 1. Anchetty Village of Thally Block on 07-Aug-23
 2. Sigaralapalli Village of Bargur Block on 05-Sep-23
 3. Shoolagiri Village of Shoolagiri Block on 08-Sep-23
of Krishnagiri District, to promote awareness on knowledge and innovation in preparation of millet dishes.
